Thats really good Karan ji

Problems are good, they help you move
forward towards solutions :-)

I think you have asked a wrong question.

The right question is
What God is not?

Gurbani teaches:
Āpe jal thal sabẖaṯ hai pi▫ārā parabẖ āpe
kare so ho▫e.
The Beloved Himself is in all the oceans
and lands; whatever God does, comes to pass.

More

Sabẖ hai barahm barahm hai pasri▫ā man
bīji▫ā kẖāvāre.
All is God, and God is the whole expanse;
man eats what he has planted.

Still not satisfied

Jo pekẖā so sabẖ kicẖẖ su▫āmī.
Whatever I see, is my Lord and Master God.

Jo sunṇā so parabẖ kī bānī.
Whatever I hear, is the Bani of God's Word.

So now tell me Karan ji, what God is not?

Well, to simplify
God is a comprehensive term just like

Education Institutes comprising schools and
Colleges

Medicine - their r many different kinds of
           medicines

Galaxies comprising various planets

Living things

Laws of nature comprising various laws

Now God is simply a word to describe all.
And people have various definitions of God
Why?
Because of limitations of their thinking.

Example, In my business when I use word
"network marketing", I receive shocking responses
Some say:
- Its about running after people
- Some Companies fool people by offering them
commissions to sell their overpriced products
- Its about make use of people to make more money
- Its fooling people by selling dreams of better
lifestyle
- Its making use of gullible people who can be easily
fooled
- Its this and that.

However network marketing is simply a process of recommending
and sharing some information about products and services with
others and companies pays you for doing this if others purchase
those products or services.

Take another example, What is a book?
Now, we can receive various answers like
- book is a compilation of some chapters
- book contains written information
- book is boring
- book is sleeping pill. So I read it every night
- book is a way to torture children
- Just as job is tension for adults, book is a
tension for children
- A book is a number of pieces of paper, usually
with words printed on them, which are fastened
together and fixed inside a cover of stronger paper
or cardboard.

- Books contain information, stories, or
poetry.

- When you book something such as a hotel room or
a ticket, you arrange to have it or use it at a
particular time

The above 2 examples are just to show that the touch
of our feelings affect the subject.

Conclusion:
If you have difficulty in understanding God,
then that might be that you are unable to see the
things in totality.

Its like you are so close to the trees that you
cannot see the Forest.

God is within you
God is within All...

Still little confused, i think i am getting it then again think i am not. God is everything, how the world was created is a part of god, how plants grow is a part of good, people die thats a part of god. The sun goes up, it is a part of God?
God - one man with power sitting somewhere and controlling everything
Sikhismen think as god as a word to describe all and everything??
Do we not becomes atheist? because we dont belive in- God - one man with power sitting somewhere and controlling everything, but still we use to word god to describe all and everything...

Karan ji

Kindly answer following questions for me.
I just want to understand exactly what
thought is capturing your attention.

Is God male or female?

Is God some one separate from its creation
sitting somewhere else and controlling the
universe or is God a system comprising
the whole universe and its laws?

Can God be affected by our prayers?

Can God go against his own created laws
just to serve a few people who consider
themselves near and dear to God and spend
major time in some Kind of meditation?

Do God punish people?

Do God love all people?

Is God 1 or many? I mean are
their many God and Goddess or just one?

Do God have any particular shape,
size, form or appearance? Or is it that
we human give God shape, size, form or
appearance as per our thinking and
understanding?

Karan ji, I think I have the answer to
your question, but still to get you
your answer, I feel it is important that
you answer the above mentioned questions?

Also, if others in the forum will also
answer then they will learn more with
wider thought process...

Karan ji

One man sees God in 1 stone and another sees
God in all stones including mountains.

One man sees purity in some special water and
one man sees presence in whole of water, the oceans

One man believes God is far above in the sky
controlling every thing
Another man believes that God is far above in
the sky as well as deep inside your own heart
controlling every thing from within and without.

One man believes God can be found my doing rituals
another believe that God can be found simply by
changing the way you see things. God dont have any
particular shape or we can say God has all the
shapes.

Conclusion: Is second man atheist just because he
has a wider vision and perspective about God?
Just because he can feel the closeness and presence
of God at any time and at any place without a need
of going to the temple, mosque or church?

Rather both are not atheist.

An atheist is a person who believes that
there is no God.

Both above mentioned persons beleive in
presence of God but the vision is broader
or smaller.

Example, Can the intelligence, awareness and
understanding of a person studying in Standard 1st
be compared with a person studying in Standard
10th?

One is learning alphabets and another is learning
accounts.

Karan ji, in Jap ji Sahib, you will find

Kiv kar ākẖā kiv sālāhī ki▫o varnī kiv jāṇā.
How can we speak of Him? How can we praise Him?
How can we describe Him? How can we know Him?

O Nanak, everyone speaks of Him, each one
wiser than the rest.

vadā sāhib vadī nā▫ī kīṯā jā kā hovai.
Great is the Master, Great is His Name.
Whatever happens is according to His Will.

Nānak je ko āpou jāṇai agai ga▫i▫ā na sohai. ||21||
O Nanak, one who claims to know everything shall
not be decorated in the world hereafter. ||21||

So, my suggestion to you is:
Dont waste time trying to understand what is
God?
How will you major the depth of ocean or
hight of sky?

Lekẖā ho▫e ṯa likī▫ai lekẖai ho▫e viṇās.
If you try to write an account of this,
you will surely finish yourself before you
finish writing it.

Nānak vadā ākẖī▫ai āpe jāṇai āp. ||22||
O Nanak, call Him Great! He Himself knows
Himself. ||22||

Instead why not prefer to understand
Who are YOU?

That way you will learn more and understand
more.

Bāhar bẖīṯar eko jānhu ih gur gi▫ān baṯā▫ī.
Outside and inside, know that there is only
the One Lord; the Guru has imparted this wisdom
to me.

Jan Nānak bin āpā cẖīnai mitai na bẖaram kī kā▫ī.
||2||1||
O servant Nanak, without knowing one's own self,
the moss of doubt is not removed. ||2||1||
