On that day, we could see the live telecast from Amritsar. In the evening it seemed that all the city is illuminated, beautiful lights all over and huge gathering of people with full fervour and spirits. We felt proud of being Sikhs  and having the privilege of  such Gurus who taught us to live a truthful life.

This artcal is dedicated to the supreme shaheedi og Sahibzadas.

Today, we drink Eternity..

He smiled into the eyes of his brother, two years younger.. noticing a hint of loving envy, he continued.. i think there'll be plenty for both of us.. and he let escape a soft consoling laughter, tapping the young shoulder..

The situation is grave.. he knew that.. he had been to the front.. a group of 100, sent to hold off a million.. the enemy was far flung.. sniffing out escape routes one at a time.. elements were not pleasant.. night had been cold and rainy.. fog made visibility impossible.. resources were almost finished.. the bags of bullets near empty.. quivers of arrows lost along the way.. the castle that wasn't really castle.. and only 40..

But he knows who he is.. enemy to be feared is never the one outside the walls, but one within.. it is not the escape routes he's concerned with, it is the entrapment of the worldly desires that make him cringe.. warmth of his Father's love, the clarity of mind, arrows of GurBaanee and a castle of Truth that Guru Naanak erected with immovable foundation.. 40 will be a perfect number for today.. he wishes and hopes that he is a part of that number..

Your colors look fantastic, his Father had said.. there was a proud smile on Papa's face.. he had looked down on his dress adorned with the colors of his own dedication and those of his fellow fighters who paid the ultimate price for their faith.. he could not see the original colors, for all that remained was a deep crimson.. he was left speechless.. his Father, all knowing.. didn't need to hear him say what he felt.. the son humbled by the acceptance of his Father bowed.. two powerful yet graceful hands took hold of his face.. lifted him.. proceeded to gently wipe the dust off the proud Dastaar.. that was all the reward he could have ever hoped for..

Will tomorrow bring glory? asked his younger brother.. there is never glory in war, brother.. death of friend or foe is never a matter of pride or joy.. is it just then? question of the young.. just is the decision of Vaheguru, says the elder.. then.. then we are to do as Father Guru says.. that is just.. that is just.. it will be a day.. where our will will be tested.. fear will try to penetrate these muddy walls.. worldly riches will tempt.. those who stay true to our Father will have a good day.. those who leave his side will suffer the weight of eternity.. i plan on having a good day, says the young gun.. i am sure our Father will see to it, smiles the elder..

Tomorrow is now passing.. he has been doing the tasks ordered by his Father.. efficiently.. not a thought in his head.. he knows.. when his Father decides.. that will be his turn.. i wants nothing.. i have all i need.. i have the Will of my Father.. and then the tap of the strongest hands in the world..

Grace stands before him.. it is time.. his Father unties his Dastaar.. gives it a good hard shake.. all of the dust of the world is removed.. Fresh.. Wholesome.. with his own hands.. gently firmly lovingly purposely.. Divine Father sends his own flesh to bleed for the world.. The Dastaar is tied.. there is no honor higher in the world.. The Guru's Dastaar.. on a Sikh's head.. there is NO higher honor..

This will be a good day..

My Learnings from the above story:

Even though we are not in such severe conditions, we still do what is required by the circumstances instead of what is desired by our deeper instincts... The thought of being a valuable person, a important person who is available for others, a sense of dignity and feeling of proud for acts of kindness and showing a real gratitude not shaken by the circumstances but knowing within what I really want is to be happy forever, be available forever, be in fruitful service forever towards myself, my parents, my family, my society, my country, my world, my universe and my all pervading God - Waheguru, Ram, Allah, Bithal, Pyara, Satgur, Jesus...
For every minute you are angry with someone, you lose 60 seconds of happiness that you can never get back.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

AAP SAB JI NU GURPURAB  DI LAKH LAKH VADHAI
This is a very auspicious day for every one. on this day we all should remember his sacrifices and teachings. He is the founder of the sikh religion.

Guru gobind singh ji, the tenth guru of sikhs, was born to guru Tegh bahadur ji and Mata gujri ji in December 1666, at patna in Bihar. during his early years he gave clear signs of the sort of life he was to lead later. he was active, full of fun, blood and fearless.Guru gobind singh ji tried to follow the way of his grand father, guru hargobind dev ji, by receiving training in the use of weapons.

In 1699, he created a core group called the khalsa or the pure GuruGobind singh ji organised a fair at Anandpur, and asked the Sikhs to come armed on Baisakhi day. the next day Guru Gobind Singh ji administered the initiaiton  of khalsa to the Panj Pyaras. He prepared a drink called amrit for taking pledge. The Guru then announced a code of conduct called RAHIT, and asked all who accepted the khalsa to adopt the Five K,s -Kes ( Uncut Hair) KANGHA (Comb), KARA ( a metal wrist band), KIRPAN (Sword), and KACHHA (Shorts).

The Panj Pyaras became the Shiromanis or leaders of the Khalsa sect. The Sect grew fast with every Hindu family converting first male child into a sikh to strengthen it further. Gurugobind singh ji sacrificed his Two sons in te battle of Lahore.

Mata Gujari was accompained by the two younger sons. She met with a Brahmin named Gangu, at one time their cook. Lured by their wealth, this man betrayed the guru's TWO SONS to NAwab wazir khan of Sirhand. he felt that by converting the two boys to Islam, he could jolt the morale of the Sikhs. But the young boys did not budge from their faith. The nawab heartlessly ordered the boys to be taken away and entombed inside the wall. Mata Gujari could not bear this sorrow, and died of shock.

Guru Gobind singh ji instructed his disciples that there was to be no Guru after him. The GURU GRANTH SAHIB was to be referred to for all religious and sprituals matters. The Last Sikh Guru, Gobind singh ji breathed his last on 7th October 1708.

HAPPY GURUPURAB TO ALL OF U.
